Batik at Crafty Praxis
This workshop will run 16th Jan 7-9.
In this session you will learn how to do the ancient art of Batik. Batik is a textile surface pattern technique that's existed in many eastern cultures for hundreds of years and creates a distinct and attractive design. Using wax and specially made tools we'll make patterns on fabric that act as a resist to fabric paint that we'll apply on top of the wax.
Come with ideas of the kinds of pattern you'd like to do, pinterest board for inspo here:
The workshop will take place at Crafty Praxis, a wonderful creative shop in Byram Arcade, Huddersfield. The perfect time to get some Christmas presents in!
Crafty Praxis is a wheelchair accessible venue with accessible toilets. The entrance is round the back of the arcade off Station Street, next to the entrance of the former Blue Rooms and above Camel Club.
There's lots of free street parking nearby however I would recommend arriving a bit earlier as sometimes the parking immediately nearby is scarce. The train and bus station are also very nearby.
The workshop needs minimum numbers to run. In the unlikely event it doesn't meet this the workshop will be cancelled. Your booking is secured by payment and if you choose to cancel you get a refund up to 2 days before the event however after that no refund can be given.
